The new activities and visits this year have helped us understand that travelling to different places isfar better than staying at the airport for hours, even though it means spending a bit more money.

Visiting Rochester cathedral or the impressive medieval castle makes you understand that you are travelling and learning at the same time as you are stepping into History. Visiting this area means looking back to the beginning of Christianity in England, being an eyewitness of the first place St Augustine arrived in England (Isle of Thanet), sent by Pope Gregory to bring the country under the influence of Rome. He managed to establish a community of monks based first at St Martin’s church, which later became the present cathedral in Canterbury.

And obviously, the trip to Cambridge, one of the world’s most prestigious and influential universities, took us back to those days in which Isaac Newton, Darwin, Stephen Hawkin, Lord Byron or E. M. Forster studied in one of the colleges established throughout the centuries to modern times. Punting on the River Cam, seeing most of these colleges, has been one of the most pleasant and interesting activities in the trip. We mustn’t forget to mention the impressive organizational structure of the Kent School of English, which provides very good quality English language tuition for learners. Their lessons and activities are both good and enjoyable. Our students enjoyed their stay there and met friendly and helpful families. They have learnt a lot and, above all, they have realized that they can communicate by using the foreign language they are learning at school.

A good experience worth being lived again.
